Sjors Martins brings hospitality expertise to his role with the two all-inclusive resorts
MAHO, St. Maarten (July 19, 2023) – Sonesta St. Maarten, two all-inclusive resorts comprised of the luxe adults-only Sonesta Ocean Point Resort and family-friendly Sonesta Maho Beach Resort, Casino & Spa, announces Sjors Martins as the newly appointed Resort Manager. Martins will utilize his deep understanding of hospitality and team management to oversee staffing, rooms, restaurants and bars, guest services, and more for both Sonesta St. Maarten properties.

With nearly 20 years of international hospitality experience, Martins is a seasoned industry professional whose approach combines a progressive outlook with a track record of increasing profit margins. Prior to joining Sonesta St. Maarten, Martins held the position of Hotel Manager at the Suriname-based Torarica Group. In this role, Martins tripled revenue at the group’s three hotels within the first full post-COVID year. Additional hospitality experience includes opening the DoubleTree by Hilton Doha – Al Sadd, Hilton Riyadh Hotel & Residences, and Hilton Batumi in Georgia. Martins developed his skillset holding a variety of positions across European properties early in his career.
